Filmed over a weekend with full creative freedom while Oregon-based singer CHAM crashed on our couch, Tab was all about pushing boundaries and packing in as many experimental visuals as possible. From rotoscoping and mixed media animation to an opening drone shot, every element was a result of pure collaboration and experimentation. The project came together organically, blending different techniques to create something visually dynamic, unpredictable, and just plain fun to watch.

The mixed media animation was done practically, not digitally. We printed out and cut out shapes from all the frames, scoured Chicago for old magazines to paste under/over the cuts, and used crayons and Posca Pens to create some cool effects. We then took photos of all the frames, put them into a nested sequence, and dropped them into our video timeline.
