The main takeaway that we wanted from a viewer of this commercial was that film was easy, fun, and youthful. This was all based on the company's demographics. Some things were important to show, like being texted the pictures, but it was mainly about conveying emotion. Film, as in actual film that you develop, is something that is very easy to get our generation excited about. There is so much mystery around analog things that have become digital.

Showing the film and how it worked in a simplistic way was the driving idea behind the commercial. We know many people outside of filmmaking and photography who would be delighted to hold an AE-1. All we had to do was show the process of film photography and this was enthralling enough for the primary demographic.
